Strengthening Communities through Storytelling Part 1
This January, please join us for a two-day creative writing workshop intended to foster connections between Jewish and Muslim people living in Germany. The first day of the workshop ("Get To Know Me") will be focused on unlocking creativity in memoir through different personal writing exercises, including experiments in scene-setting, fact versus fiction, and the first-person perspective.
With this foundation, the second day of the workshop is called "Us": encouraging new encounters by telling someone else's story. Day 2 will centre partner work, where people are encouraged to work closely with people they don't know. On Day 2, we'll practise other crucial creative nonfiction storytelling skills, like effective interviewing, paying attention to detail, and description.
