Rosa Luxemburg (1871–1919) was a prominent Jewish-Polish politician, philosopher, and socialist. As a passionate advocate of Marxism, she was a staunch champion of improving workers’ living conditions and resisting capitalism. Although Rosa Luxemburg was a revolutionary, she always emphasized the necessity of democracy and freedom of speech. She advocated for a socialist society, peace, and social justice in Germany and Poland. At the same time, she took a firm stand against the Kaiser, World War I, and the oppression of the working class. She was one of the co-founders of the KPD, was committed to democratic values, and was murdered in Berlin in 1919.  We will take a brief biographical look at Rosa Luxemburg and her most important views and ideas: “The revolution is magnificent; everything else is nonsense”!
